Our Sustainability Strategy Our Vision In the past years Rotana has demonstrated its commitment to sustainability with good economical performance, various environmental programmes and high impact initiatives that are currently underway to achieve water reduction, energy conservation and solid waste reduction. We were early adopters of many traditional sustainable practices in all of the hotels we developed and built back in the 1993. That beside our various social responsibility and community engagement programmes such as: serving and engaging our community, developing and training our colleagues, recruiting local colleagues. On the other side, as a global business serving more than 11 million guests annually in 46 hotels, and having an ambitious expansion plan, the Rotana family of Hotels, is well-positioned to make a difference environmentally, socially, culturally and economically in the tourism sectors. Therefore, we have developed and implement in a comprehensive sustainability strategy consultation with our key internal and some external stakeholders to ensure that we achieve our strategic sustainability objectives. Our strategy provides a planned and systematic approach to setting our sustainability targets, key performance indicators, management initiatives and measuring and reporting framework. Sustainability Vision “To be a hotel industry leader in implementing sustainable business practices that minimise harm and maximise benefit to the environment, the economy and our local community”. In order to achieve our sustainability vision, Rotana has identified key strategic sustainability goals that align with our core corporate values of LIFE: Long term, Innovative, Friendly & Ethical. We will use these guiding principles and objectives to manage our businesses in a way that sustain the people, the planet, and profit. Our sustainability vision is supported by our Board and Senior Management, who have committed to leading Rotana towards this vision.
