23 Maturity Assessment, Hotels Analysis & Benchmarking In order to better understand our company’s current sustainability maturity level, we have utilised the Maturity Assessment Tool (part of the Capacity Building programme of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group –ADSG) enabling us to conduct a thorough assessment of our global operations with the goal of evaluating our current sustainability performance and creating rigid strategy to define and build sustainability into our operations. The sustainability Maturity Assessment Tool includes: • A quantitative assessment of our current maturity level in four dimensions (Policies, Approaches, Performance Results, Perception Results). • A quantitative assessment of our current maturity level in seven areas (Management, Owners, Employees, Suppliers, Customers, Community, Environment). In parallel, online sustainability surveys were prepared by the CSC committee members and launched to be filled by 46 operating hotels to understand our current operation performance toward sustainability. The surveys covered Engineering, Housekeeping, Information Technology, Food & Beverage, Marketing, and Front Office departments. The Survey results were analysed with each corresponding department CVP and an action plan was set and divided into: • Short term actions • Long term actions • Programmes development • Policy or procedure amendment. The maturity assessment along with the survey’s results enabled us to develop our sustainability strategy. Sustainability Corporate Policy - Strategic Framework CSC members have met regularly to brainstorm on developing the company’s sustainability policy, objectives and identify a sustainability programme name and logo. Rotana’s Sustainability Vision and Strategic Objectives were issued after reviewing by an external sustainable development consultant.
