A Human Resource policy is available for equal opportunity to ensure that: • All colleagues and job applicants are treated equally regardless of their race, colour, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, or gender. • All properties recruit, develop, promote and reward individuals on the basis of experience, abilities, and qualifications and in accordance with business needs. A grievance procedure is available to any colleague who believes that he or she may have been unfairly discriminated against. As a result of the policy and the practices, during 2012, there were no violations of rights for indigenous people, incidents of discrimination. Based on our Risk Assessment process, no operations with significant risk of forced or compulsory labour have been identified. Risk assessment were done for our operations in Abu Dhabi, with no cases of compulsory labour identified We are now in the process of conducting similar assessments for the rest of the regions. Colleagues Benefits & Compensation At Rotana, total compensation comprises colleague’s wages and benefit that reflect competitive local market standards, fairly competitive within the hospitality sector in the MENA region and are above the standard entry level wage where applicable in the countries where we operate. To this end, we structure our compensation profiles to reflect salaries, performance and equity across job position. And to ensure that its compensation package retains its competitive edge, Rotana participates in an annual compensation and benefits survey and has signed an agreement with AON , 3rd party company for salary surveys. Rotana also offers the Food & Beverage discounts and stay over discounts for colleagues and for colleagues’ friends and relatives. Overtime is duly compensated, and colleagues passports are secured with HR.
