Rotana Corporate Sustainability Report 2017

47 RETAINING OUR COLLEAGUES With the various engagement programmes and human resources policies and initiatives, we were able to reduce colleague turnover from 36.6% in 2013 to 29.6% in 2017. However we recognise that we need to continue to improve our programmes to retain more of our female colleagues and further reduce the overall turnover rate. Loyal and dedicated colleagues have worked across Rotana hotels for decades... Rotana rewards this work and commitment from colleagues with training and development opportunities, career progression and continued support has helped us to continue attraction and retain committed and loyal colleagues. The average tenure for a General Manager in the company is 7.6 years and average for all other colleagues is 3.6 years. Rotana recognises that it still needs to improve the retention of young colleagues which have a turnover of 37.8% for the under 30 age group, an increase of 3.1% in comparison to the previous year. We consider this turnover rate to be too high and recognise that more needs to be done to retain our valuable colleagues and are committed to continue working on this issue. The average tenure for a General Manager in the company is 7.6 years and average for all colleagues is 3.6 years.
